| The Skirt Factory: Assembly Instructions |
| Step 1 |
Position the table clamp onto table and screw in the thumb screw snug. |
| Step 2 |
Pick up the desired colored rubber collar, moisten the collar
and slip it onto the end of the point of the piers. Make sure that the collar is positioned on the end in
such a way the the hooked end of the pliers is holding the collar on. (see illustration) |
 |
| Step 3 |
Open the pliers far enough to position the lock
device into the hole on the pliers handle. (see illustration) Note:
If you open the pliers too far, the collar may rupture. |
| Step 4 |
Cut
the desired length of rubber needed and split it in half lengthwise.
Most skirts will be cut at 5 1/2". You can change your color
combination to your liking by dividing your rubber in half and using
1/2 of one color and 1/2 of another color. |
| Step 5 |
Slip the rubber through the opened collar,
stopping in the middle (see illustration). Remove the skirt from the
pliers by the collar. Note: If the rubber is frayed and hard to
start, you can fold a cut piece of cardboard over the end of the
ribber as a lead on the rubber. |
 |
| Step 6 |
Position the skirt with the rubber collar
directly in the middle of the pliers (about 3/8" above the locking
device). Center the collar and clamp the pliers shut. Obtain the
locking device and swing it to lock on the backside of the handle (see illustration). |
 |
| Step 7 |
Pick up the pliers and position them in the
table clamp. Hold the rubber on the end and stretch. Cut the rubber
close to the end in your fingers in a slow steady motion. Remove the
pliers and reverse it in the clamp, stretch and cut the opposite end
in the same manner. Remove the pliers from the clamp and release the
pliers lock (see illustration). |
 |

NOTES: For higher production, the pliers may be
modified to open wider by drilling a 9/64" hole below the existing
locking hole on handle. |
 |
| |
Skirt Application: Moisten area for better slip. |
